Plywood floors for three months. Crews that vanish for a week. Change orders that double the budget. That is the Phoenix remodel horror story too many homeowners know. The Fortress GCI “Integrity-First Philosophy” ensures you’ll get a different experience.
Here’s What A Fortress GCI Remodel Looks Like:
That’s backed by 15+ years remodeling Phoenix Metro homes, 90+ completed projects, and $1.3 billion in Arizona construction managed. Family-owned, fully permitted, every job.
Whole-home remodels. Kitchen and bath gut renovations. Room additions that look like the home was built that way originally.
Most of our remodel work falls into one of three buckets. Each is fully customized to your home — your finishes, your layout, your goals. Every project is fully permitted and code-compliant for Maricopa County.
Fortress General Contracting, Inc. is a family-owned Arizona GC serving the greater Phoenix Metro area since 2008. With 90+ completed projects, over $1.3 billion in Arizona construction managed, and over three decades of Phoenix construction experience, our reputation has been built one homeowner at a time, and we protect it on every job.
Here is how a remodel actually works with Fortress GCI:
01 — Free In-Home Consultation. We walk your home, listen to what is not working, and give you a straight answer on scope and budget — even when that answer is “this project is bigger than you think” or “you don’t need to spend that much.” No pressure, no obligation, no upsell.
02 — Design & Fixed Pricing. Plans, finishes, and fixtures locked in before we pick up a hammer. You see one real number in writing — not a range that creeps up later, not a lowball that grows through change orders. If something genuinely changes mid-project, we tell you before the work happens, not after the invoice.
03 — Permits, Build & Inspections. Every drawing, every city submittal, every inspection — done by the book. Licensed Arizona trades we have worked with for years, one project manager who owns your job start to finish, and weekly progress updates whether the news is good or not.
04 — Final Walkthrough. You inspect every detail before signing off. If something is not right, we make it right. We are not done until you are — and that standard does not change after the check clears.

How long does a kitchen remodel actually take?
A standard Phoenix kitchen remodel runs 6–10 weeks once demo starts, including cabinet lead times. Full gut jobs with structural changes run longer. We give you a real schedule before you sign — not a guess.
Will I have to move out during the remodel?
For kitchen-only or bath-only projects, no — we phase the work and protect your living space. For whole-home remodels and large additions, most clients move out for the heaviest 4–8 weeks. We talk through this during the consult so there are no surprises.
Does Fortress handle the permits and inspections?
Every single one. Drawings, city submittals, every inspection, and final sign-off — all on us. You never deal with Phoenix, Scottsdale, or Tempe permit offices.
What does a typical Phoenix kitchen remodel cost?
Most full kitchen remodels in the Valley land between $55,000 and $120,000 depending on size, layout changes, and finish level. Bath remodels run $25,000–$60,000. We price every job to a fixed number after the design phase.
Can you match the addition to my existing home?
Yes — that is the whole point. Roof line, stucco texture, window style, interior trim, flooring transitions. When we are done, an addition should look like the home was built that way originally. Anything less is a fail in our book.
What if I find something I want to change mid-project?
It happens, and we plan for it. Change orders are written, priced, and approved in writing before any work shifts — no verbal handshakes, no end-of-job surprise invoices. The number you sign is the number you pay, plus only the changes you specifically authorize.
Posted on Amy WhitworthTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently experienced a storm that tore the majority of my roof off and created water damage throughout the house. Once I met with my insurance adjuster and the claim was approved, I had Fortress Contracting start rebuilding. Jason and his crew were fast, professional, and courteous. They showed up exactly when they said they would, kept the worksite incredibly tidy, and the quality of the new roof is impeccable. Jason maintained clear communication throughout the construction phase, always keeping us informed of the progress. Fortress made a stressful time, a lot easier.Posted on Chase MollTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My project is off to a great start.
