Where Did the Name "Fortress" Come From?

You may think the name “Fortress GCI” comes from our exceptional architecture, but it actually comes from our founder John Mariconda’s father. When he was in the military, he used to fly a “flying fortress” aircraft. Thus, John decided to use the name “Fortress” for his contracting company. With strong support of our armed services and all who have served, we take great pride in honoring them with our namesake.
